Our Faith

ACT OF CONTRITION
O my God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you, whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with  your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.  Amen.

TEN COMMANDMENTS

1.   I am the Lord your God; you shall not have strange gods before me.
2.   You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
3.   Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day.
4.   Honor your father and your mother.
5.   You shall not kill.
6.   You shall not commit adultery.
7.   You shall not steal.
8.   You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9.   You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
10.  You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.


SEVEN SACRAMENTS

THE CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY

1.  Feed the hungry.
2.   Give drink to the thirsty.
3.   Clothe the naked.
4.   Shelter the homeless.
5.   Visit the sick.
6.   Visit those in prison
7.   Bury the dead.


THE SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY

1.  Admonish sinners.
2.   Instruct the ignorant.
3.   Counsel the doubtful
4.   Comfort the sorrowful.
5.   Bear wrongs patiently
6.   Forgive injuries
7.   Pray for the living and the dead.


THE PRECEPTS OF THE CHURCH

1.   Attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
2.   Confession of sin at least once a year.
3.   Reception of Holy Communion at least once a year during the Easter season.
4.   Observance of the days of fast and abstinence.
5.   Providing for the needs of the Church.


HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION

1. January 1st - Mary, Mother of God
2.  40 days after Easter - Ascension
3.  August 15th - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
4.  November 1st - All Saints Day
5.  December 8th - Immaculate Conception
6.  December 25th - Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ
